In Programs 9 and 10, we feature more of the many volunteers who work in our parks with staff of the South Australian Department for Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). This week, we meet Liz McTaggart, a Ranger with the Northern Lofty District which includes Black Hill, Morialta and Horsnell Gully Parks, as she works with volunteers in Morialta Conservation Park. And we hear from two service organisations who work with DENR and with the Friends of Black Hill and Morialta, by their involvement as volunteers in controlling unwanted weeds, but also in providing support for anyone who comes along to help in the park, with a friendly BBQ at the end of the morning’s work – it’s all great community capacity building in action!
