Parks are important for so many reasons. They provide a home for, protect and preserve native plants and animals and provide a range of recreational opportunities for people. Many of our parks are home to rare or endangered species, some have spectacular scenery, or interesting heritage. They provide a connection between us and the natural world.

89.7 PBAFM, in the Adelaide suburb of Salisbury, has shown great initiative in putting this series together for radio, and have shown a wonderful commitment to the community in bringing you local stories about local people doing local activities to care for our environment. The Park Friends website enables listeners to access the radio programs as podcasts, long after the broadcasts have finished.

The Friends of Black Hill and Morialta Inc. were very pleased in 2012 to work with 89.7 PBAFM to share with you the activities we are involved with, and hope you can find some time on a regular basis to get out and experience what our parks are all about.
